A mummified falcon, well wrapped in linen bandages which form a pattern. There are some black marks on some of the cloth but it is undetermined whether these are traces of writing or the remains of a bitumen-like substance. There are two different thicknesses of cloth used for the bandaging.

O tecido apresenta duas espessuras diferentes no enfaixamento.
A mummified falcon, well wrapped in linen bandages which form a pattern. There are some black marks on some of the cloth but it is undetermined whether these are traces of writing or the remains of a bitumen-like substance. There are two different thicknesses of cloth used for the bandaging.

Object''s History
On permanent loan from the Gilstrap Museum, Newark-upon-Trent, Nottinghamshire. The material came from Petrie's excavations of 1912-1913 at Heliopolis, Kafr Ammar and Shurefa, to which Miss Gilstrap had contributed generously. She had actually journeyed to see some of the work of the British School of Archaeology in Egypt being carried out at the sites.
