Description
A blue-glazed faience amulet, shaped as the head of the god Bes. He wears the characteristic flaring headdress which is pierced at the top for suspension. The back is flat with a hollow in the lower part. Bes was worn as a protective amulet in life, especially by women and children.

Blauw geglazuurd amulet van faience in de vorm van een hoofd van de god Bes. Hij draagt de karakteristieke uitwaaierende hoofdtooi die aan de bovenkant is doorboord voor ophanging. De achterzijde is plat en heeft onderin een holte. Bes werd als beschermend amulet gedragen tijdens het leven, vooral door vrouwen en kinderen.
Amulette en faïence bleue émaillée représentant la tête du dieu Bès. Il porte la coiffe évasée caractéristique, percée au sommet pour permettre la suspension. Le revers est plat, à l'exception d'un creux dans la partie inférieure. Bès, dieu protecteur, était porté en amulette, en particulier par les femmes et les enfants.
Ein blau glasiertes Fayenceamulett in Gestalt eines Beskopfes. Er trägt den charakteristischen ausschwingenden Kopfschmuck, der oben ein Loch aufweist, damit er aufgehängt werden konnte. Die Rückseite ist flach und im unteren Bereich eingetieft. Bes wurde zu Lebzeiten insbesondere von Frauen und Kindern als Schutzamulett getragen.
Amuleto in faience invetriata di colore blu, avente la forma della testa del dio Bes. Il dio indossa la caratteristica parrucca forata nella parte posteriore per permettere all'oggetto di poter essere appeso. La parte posteriore è piatta e cava verso il basso. Bes veniva indossato come amuleto protettivo durante la vita, specialmente da donne e bambini.
