Beker met voet, op een draaischijf gemaakt, met enkel aangehecht handvat, bolvormig lichaam dat het wijdst is bij de basis, en smalle hals die uitloopt in de wijde mond. Gobelet à pied, façonné au tour, muni d'une seule anse en applique, d'un corps globulaire qui s'élargit vers la base, d'un col étroit et évasé et d'une lèvre épaisse. Des marques d'écoulement, provenant du façonnage sur le tour, sont visibles sur la panse et sur le col. Le récipient a été acquis par Lady Harriet Kavanagh, à Thèbes, en 1840. Il provient peut-être d'une tombe romaine tardive ou d'un site monastique.

Auf der Töpferscheibe gefertigter Fußbecher mit einem angesetzten Griff, einem kugelförmigen Körper, der zum Boden hin den weitesten Durchmesser besitzt, und einem schmalen Hals, der sich zu der weiten Mündung hin erweitert. I segni di tornitura sono visibili sia attorno al collo che sul corpo. Il vaso fu acquistato da Lady Harriet Kavanagh a Tebe negli anni quaranta del secolo diciannovesimo: è possibile che l'oggetto provenga da una tomba tardo romano o da un sito monastico.

Footed beaker, made on the potter's wheel, with single applied handle, globular body widest toward the base, and narrow neck flaring to wide mouth. The rilling marks from throwing on the wheel are clear around both body and neck. The vessel was acquired by Lady Harriet Kavanagh at Thebes in the 1840s: it may possibly derive from a late Roman burial or monastic site.
