Description
Faience amulet in the form of the jackal-headed Duamutef, one of the four sons of Horus, protectors of the inner organs treated separately in mummification. His role is indicated by the mummiform body and the mummy-bandages held as crossed diagonals on the chest. With his three brothers Duamutef regularly forms a set of four funerary amulets placed on the body in the 3rd Intermediate Period and later. On this example the plain tripartite wig is picked out in purple-black glaze against the <!-->turquoise-blue background.

Faience amulet in de vorm van de jakhalskoppige Doeamoetef, een van de vier Horuszonen, beschermers van de inwendige organen die bij de mummificatie apart behandeld werden. Zijn rol wordt aangegeven door het mummievormig lichaam en de mummiewindsels die hij gekruist over de borst houdt. Met zijn drie broers vormt Doeamoetef vaak een set van vier grafamuletten die in de 3e Tussenperiode en later op het lichaam werden geplaatst. In dit exemplaar is de eenvoudige drieledige pruik in paarszwart glazuur tegen de <!-->turkooisblauwe achtergrond geplaatst.
Amulette en faïence représentant Douamoutef à tête de chacal, l'un des quatre Fils d'Horus, protecteurs des organes internes traités séparément lors de la momification. Son rôle est indiqué par le corps momiforme et les bandelettes fixées en diagonales croisées sur la poitrine. Avec ses trois frères, Douamoutef forme régulièrement un ensemble de quatre amulettes funéraires placées sur le corps du défunt, pendant la Troisième Période Intermédiaire et plus tard. La perruque tripartite de cette pièce est rehaussée d'un vernis violet-noir sur fond bleu <!-->turquoise.

Bei diesem Exemplar ist die dreiteilige Perücke durch eine purpurschwarze Glasur gegenüber dem <!-->türkisblauen Hintergrund hervorgehoben.
Amuleto in faience avente la forma di Duamutef dalla testa di sciacallo. Questi era uno dei quattro figli di Horo, protettori degli organi interni che venivano trattati separatamente durante il processo di mummificazione. Il suo ruolo è indicato dal corpo mummiforme e dalle bende di mummia tenute sul petto come due diagonali incrociate. Assieme ai suoi tre fratelli Duamutef forma regolarmente una serie di quattro amuleti funerari che venivano posti sul corpo nel Terzo Periodo Intermedio ed in epoche successive. In questo esemplare la liscia corona tripartita è realizzata in pasta vitrea nero-porpora in contrasto con lo sfondo blu-turchese.
