Description
Beginning in the late Old Kingdom, wooden group-models representing servants producing food and drink and other necessities were placed in tombs. These acted as magical substitutes for real individuals, and guaranteed the deceased a perpetual supply of nourishment.

Vanaf het Oude Rijk werden houten groepsmodellen van dienaren die voedsel en drank en andere noodzakelijkheden produceerden in graven geplaatst. Deze deden dienst als magische substituten voor echte dienaren, en garandeerden de overledene een eeuwige voedselvoorraad.
A la fin de l'Ancien Empire, des groupes de modèles en bois, représentant des serviteurs en train de fabriquer nourriture, boissons et autres objets utiles, étaient placés dans les tombes.
