Description
Brilliant blue faience shabti of Henuttawy, 'God's Adoratrice' (high-ranking priestess) of the god Amun at Thebes. The figure is decorated in black glaze with details including the headband, and the pick, hoe and basket to be used in agricultural labour. The hieroglyphic inscription in the lines on the front and sides of the figure record the name and title of the owner, with the shabti text which summons the figure to do any manual labour required in the next life.

Helderblauwe faience oesjabti van Henoettawy, 'godsaanbidster' (priesteres van hoge rang) van de god Amon te Thebe. Het beeldje is versierd in zwart glazuur met details als de hoofdband en de schoffel, hak en korf die gebruikt moesten worden bij landbouwwerkzaamheden. De hiërogliefen op de voorkant en zijkanten van het beeldje geven de naam en titel van de eigenaar weer, met de oesjabtitekst die het beeldje oproept iedere handenarbeid te verrichten die in het volgend leven vereist wordt.
Ouchebti en faïence bleue, d'un beau brillant, de Henouttawy, 'divine adoratrice' (prêtresse de haut rang) du dieu Amon de Thèbes. La figure est décorée d'un vernis noir et comporte des détails tels le bandeau, le hoyau, la houe et le sac, des outils utilisés dans l'agriculture. L'inscription hiéroglyphique horizontale figurant sur le devant et les côtés de la figure rapporte les nom et titre de sa propriétaire ainsi que la formule des ouchebtis qui l'invite à effectuer les corvées manuelles requises dans l'au-delà.
