The Global Egyptian Museum

The remarkable bust depicts Demeter-Selene, Greek goddess of grain and the dead. Her head is inclined to the right and she wears a diadem, a veil, and two small horns on the forehead. 

Her large eyes are well defined with the pupils marked by a circle and the iris hollowed out.

Demeter-Selene is usually depicted with a scepter, ears of corn, and a poppy or torch.

Ce remarquable buste représente Déméter-Selênê, déesse grecque du blé et de la mort. Sa tête est inclinée vers la droite et elle porte un diadème, un voile et deux petites cornes sur le front. 

Ses grands yeux sont bien définis : ses pupilles présentent un cercle et l'iris est creusé. 

D'habitude, Déméter-Selênê est représentée avec un sceptre, des épis de blé et un coquelicot ou une torche.

تمثال نصفي رائع لديميتر سيلين، وقد صورت برأسها مائلة إلى اليمين، ويزين جبينها الذي يغطيه اكليل من القماش، قرنان صغيران. 

وعيناها الواسعتان محددتان جيداً، وإنسان العين فيهما مميز بدائرة، بينما أفرغت الحدقتان. 

وديميتر هي إلهة القمح، وإلهة الموتى. وتمثل عادة بصولجان وسنابل قمح وشعلة أو رأس خشخاش.
