Description
This cup is shaped like the sacred blue lotus flower. It has no ornamentation. The lotus flower was often depicted on wine jars and cups because its extracts might have been used in making the wine. The extracts of the lotus flower were prized for their scent and their mildly narcotic qualities.

Ce récipient a la forme de la fleur de lotus bleue sacrée. Il ne comprend aucune décoration. La fleur de lotus était couramment représentée sur les pots à vin et les récipients car ses extraits ont sans doute été utilisés dans la fabrication du vin. Les extraits de fleur de lotus étaient prisés pour leur odeur et leurs qualités légèrement narcotiques.
شكل هذا الكأس، الذى لا يحمل أى زخارف، على هيئة زهرة اللوتس الزرقاء المقدسة. ولقد اعتاد الفنانون تصوير زهور اللوتس على أوانى وكئوس النبيذ، ربما يرجع السبب فى هذا إلى أن عصائرها كانت تستخدم فى صناعته لإضفاء نكهة طيبة للمشروب. هذا ومن المعروف تميز عصائر زهور اللوتس برحيقها واعتدال مادتها المسكرة.
