Description
Two sandal soles were found among the funerary equipment of Mesehti, Mayor of Asiut. They were included so that he could stand upright and move about in the netherworld. This pair is the open type of sandal that has a V-shaped band across the front to hold the foot and a band around the heel. The bands are painted white and two small wooden pieces on each side of the soles support the bands.

Deux semelles de sandales furent découvertes parmi le matériel funéraire du maire Mesehti. Elles avaient été incluses pour qu'il puisse se tenir debout et se déplacer dans l'au-delà. Il s'agit de sandales ouvertes dotées d'une bande en V sur le devant pour tenir le pied et d'une bande autour du talon. Ces bandes sont peintes en blanc et deux petits morceaux de chaque côté des semelles soutiennent les bandes.
عثر على نعال صندلين بين الأثاث الجنائزي للعمدة مسحتي، ضما حتى يمكناه من الوقوف منتصباً والتجول في العالم الآخر. وللصندل شريط عبر المقدمة للإمساك بالقدم، وشريط آخر حول النعل. والأشرطة مطلية باللون الأبيض، وتدعمها قطعتان صغيرتان من الخشب على جانبي النعل.
