Description
Sandals were known in Pharaonic Egypt, and the most well known examples are the funerary sandals found in the tomb of Tutankhamun. These sandals are made of strips of wood. They are in the shape of the foot with raised edges. It is to be noted, also, that the big toe is usually identified.

عرفت الصنادل في مصر الفرعونية، وأشهر أمثلتها تلك التي عثر عليها بمقبرة توت عنخ آمون. وتصنع الصنادل من شرائح خشبية، وتتخذ شكل القدمين مع حواف مرتفعة. ويلاحظ أيضا في العادة، بروز موضع الإصبع الكبير من القدم.
