The funeral stela, an upright stone. The upper part is broken, where there might have been a ceiling or acroteria, a small pedestal for statues or other ornaments. 

The lower part has broken areas as well. The stela portrays a man sitting on a rock with his legs crossed, his head turned to the right. He leans on his right hand, while the right arm rests on the right leg, which is shifted back while the left leg stretches forward, all in dynamic harmony. 

The man's posture indicates that he is deep in thought. It is likely that the man was one of the cultured people who lived in Ptolemaic Alexandria. 

The man is clad in a himation, a rectangular cloth draped over the left shoulder and about the body. The remaining part of his chest is left bare in the Greek style that was used to portray philosophers and thinkers

Cette stèle funéraire, une pierre verticale. La partie supérieure est cassée, il y eut peut-être un plafond ou un acroteria, un petit piédestal pour statues ou autres ornements.

Certaines zones de la partie inférieure sont également cassées. Cette stèle représente un homme assis sur une pierre avec les jambes croisées et la tête tournée vers la droite. 

Il s'appuie sur sa main droite, son bras droit étant posé sur sa jambe droite qui est ramenée vers lui alors que sa jambe gauche s'étend vers l'avant, le tout suivant une harmonie dynamique.

La position de cet homme indique qu'il est plongé dans ses pensées. Il s'agit probablement d'une des personnes cultivées ayant vécu en Alexandrie à l'époque ptolémaïque. 

Cet homme est vêtu d'une himation, un vêtement rectangulaire drapé sur son épaule gauche et autour de son corps. La partie restante de sa poitrine est laissée nue suivant le style grec qui était utilisé pour représenter les philosophes et les penseurs

لوحة جنائزية ملونة من الحجر المصقول، بها كسر فى جزئها العلوى حيث نتوقع وجود الجمالون أو اكروتيريا (موطىء قدم).

الجزء السفلي به كسور أيضا. وقد صور على اللوحة رجل يجلس على صخرة، بقدمين متقاطعين، يميل برأسه إلى اليمين حيث تستند الرأس على اليد اليمنى التى ترتكز على الساق اليمنى أيضا، وتتراجع القدم اليمنى إلى الخلف، بينما تمتد الساق اليسرى إلى الأمام، فى تناسق حركي جميل. 

يشيع فى التصوير تعبير عن الاستغراق العميق فى التفكير. ربما كان صاحب التصوير أحد المثقفين فى الإسكندرية البطلمية. 

يرتدى الرجل هيماتيون يتدلى على كتفه الأيسر تاركا بقية الصدر عاريا، وهو طابع يوناني فى تصوير الفلاسفة والمفكرين، ويسود اللون الأحمر فى التصوير
