Description
A drinking cup of skyphos style with a black glaze, it has a wide rim and a deep bowl, which diminishes in size toward the round foot. It has a handle at each side of the upper part of the bowl that is noticeably embossed on the outer parts. The rim and the bowl are decorated with circular designs. Skyphoi were used for serving drinks during meals. They were among the numerous styles of cup that were used for serving water or wine and were popular in the city of Alexandria during the Hellenistic era.

Une tasse à boire de style skyphos en vernis noir. Elle possède un large rebord et un bol profond qui rétrécit vers le pied arrondi. Une poignée de chaque côté de la partie supérieure du bol est nettement gravée en relief sur les parties externes. Le bord et le bol sont ornés de dessins circulaires. Les skyphoi étaient utilisés pour servir les boissons pendant les repas. Elles faisaient partie des nombreuses formes de tasses utilisées pour l'eau ou le vin; elles étaient populaires dans la ville d'Alexandrie pendant la période Hellénistique.
إناء من طراز سكيفوس ذو طلاء أسود. الحافة متسعة والبدن عميق ومتسع، يقل إتساعه بإتجاه القاعدة الحلقية المرتفعة. المقابض جانبية أعلى البدن وتتجه بشكل ملحوظ إلى الخارج. كما يوجدزخرفة دائرية بالحز على الفوهة والبدن. أوانى إسكيفوس هى أوانى الشرب الخاصة بالمائدة، وقد إزدهر هذا الطراز فى العصر الهلينيستى بمدينة الأسكندرية مع مجموعة من الطرز الأخرى المستخدمة فى شرب المياه والنبيذ
