Description
Imhotep is represented sitting, his feet resting on a rectangular base. He wears a long garment, a broad collar and sandals; his head is shaven. In his hands he holds an unrolled papyrus bearing two horizontal lines of hieroglyphic inscription (A). Another line of hieroglyphs (B) is placed on the front and proper right sides of the base. Most probably the statuette had originally been sitting on a separately cast chair.
