The bulls were divinized in several Egyptian towns; having its own funerary cult that used mummification and canopic jars to store the viscera. It is the case of this big streaked alabaster vase, with human head, belonging to the Mnevis bull. It was worshipped in Heliopolis, and kept a close relationship with the god Atum. The inscription mentions Duamutef and the goddess Neith, both protectors of the stomach, which was introduced inside the vase after been mummified.
