Relief fragment

1973.4.112.JPG

A fragment of relief in fine limestone, depicting a Ptolemaic king facing to the left. The small straight beard, high contours of relief and the uraeus coil are indicative of a date after Ptolemy II. There are traces of red paint on the face. This is probably a sculptor's trial piece.
