Bronze mirror

103084.jpg

Circular bronze mirror with extended tang for attaching a handle, probably in organic material such as wood or ivory. The surface could have been brightly polished to produce a reasonable reflection. The majority of surviving mirrors, particularly those acquired before 1850, come from New Kingdom burials.
