Double-ended wooden comb, from the great city founded by the Roman Emperor Hadrian at the site where his lover Antinous drowned in the Nile, and named after him Antinoopolis. The city became the dominant provincial city of Upper Egypt, and flourished throughout the Byzantine Period.
