Painted wooden figure of the funerary god Ptah-Sokar-Osiris, represented as a mummiform male figure, with long divine beard, wig with lappets to below the length of the beard, a large floral collar, inserted into a rectangular plinth, and originally wearing a pair of horns supporting a double plume. The figures of this god become a regular part of burial equipment in the eighth century BC, securing the resurrection of the tomb-owner. This example comes from the rich cemeteries at Kafr 'Ammar, near the ancient provincial city Shenakhen (also called Semenuhor) between Memphis and the Faiyum.
