Offerings and libations were made to the dead in chapels above the tomb or in temples, but, in the Late Period, stone offering tables seem to have been placed also in the sealed burial chamber beneath the ground, to guarantee an eternal supply of food and drink. This example is unusual in form, combining offering-table and libation basin in one block of limestone.
