Palette from the burial goods of a child of the Naqada I Period, in the early fourth millennium BC.The child wore a copper bangle on the left wrist, and glazed steatite beads and a carnelian pendant at the neck; behind the body was found a fish-shaped palette for grinding green eye paint. The palette bears scratchmarks from extensive use.
