Statuette of the goddess Bastet, who originally came from the city of Bubastis in the Delta. She is shown with the head of a cat on a woman's body. There are holes in the erected ears, probably for the attachment of golden earrings. The whiskers are indicated on the muzzle. The deity is clothed in a low-cut dress, decorated with a pattern of lines. Bracelets are visible on her ankles. On her left arm she carries a basket and holds a divine emblem; a lion-headed aegis with a solar disc and uraeus on top. The piece is bereft of inscriptions which might have informed us of the identity of the owner.
