This mask preserves only the face with the ears, the top of the skull, and the back of the head. Yet the hair, or the indication of a hairstyle, is missing.The eyes are indistinct, but the mouth and the furrow above it are clearly delineated. The face is not a death mask in the proper sense of the term because it has not been modelled directly over the skin.
