Description
This fragment of a limestone stela comes from the excavations of J. Garstang at Abydos in 1917. It represents the god Anubis who conducts the deceased before Osiris. Under the central scene we find a badly deteriorated Greek inscription. The piece which dates from the Roman Period (1st - 2nd century) bears several traces of colour.

Dit fragment van een kalkstenen stèle is afkomstig uit opgraving van J. Garstang te Abydos in 1917. Het stelt de god Anoebis voor die de overledene voor Osiris leidt. Onder het centrale tafereel bevindt zich een zwaar aangetaste Griekse inscriptie. Het stuk dat dateert uit de Romeinse Periode (1e - 2e eeuw) draagt verschillende sporen van kleuren.
Ce fragment de stèle en calcaire provient des fouilles de J. Garstang à Abydos en 1917. Elle représente le dieu Anubis qui conduit le défunt devant Osiris. Sous la scène centrale se trouve une inscription grecque fort détériorée. La pièce qui date de la Période Romaine (Ier - IIe siècle) porte plusieurs traces de couleur.
Dieses Stelenfragment aus Kalkstein stammt aus den Grabungen von J. Garstang in Abydos im Jahre 1917. Es zeigt den Gott Anubis, der den Verstorbenen vor Osiris führt. Unterhalb der Hauptszene befindet sich eine stark beschädigte griechische Inschrift. Das Stück, das aus der Römerzeit stammt, weist noch verschiedene Farbspuren auf.
Questo frammento di stele di calcare proviene dagli scavi di J. Garstang ad Abydos nel 1971. Esso rappresenta il dio Anubi che conduce il defunto davanti a Osiride. Sotto la scena centrale si trova un'iscrizione greca molto deteriorata. Il pezzo che risale al Periodo Romano (I-II secolo) reca numerose tracce di colore.
Este fragmento de uma estela de calcário provém das escavaçöes de J. Garstang em Abidos em 1917. Nela figura o deus Anúbis conduzindo o defunto para Osíris. Sob a cena central encontra-se um texto grego bastante deteriorado. A peça data do Período Romano (séculos I-II da nossa era) e apresenta alguns vestígios de cor.
Este fragmento de estela de caliza proviene de las excavaciones de J. Garstang en Abydos en 1917. Representa al dios Anubis que dirige al difunto ante Osiris. Bajo la escena central hay una inscripción griega muy deteriorada. La pieza, que data de la Época Romana (siglo I-II de nuestra era) conserva numerosos restos de color.
