Description
The deceased buried in this subsidiary tomb of a large Classic Kerma burial was resting on a bed on to which had been laid out a very fine animal skin, dyed with red ochre and fringed with disc-shaped beads. The beads formed the hem of the skin and were sewn on with leather threads. Beads of ostrich eggshell, bone or enamel were often used to decorate leather clothing.
