Description

This vessel was found amongst a set of offerings placed in the coffin of a modest burial. With its spherical body, curved neck and orifice flared like the corolla of a flower, it is reminiscent of the golden examples of the Second Intermediate Period. This particular vessel has been polished. The clay is fine, orange and covered with a red slip.

Trouvé au milieu d'un ensemble d'offrandes dans le cercueil d'une sépulture modeste, ce vase à la panse sphérique, au col cintré, à l'ouverture évasée en corolle, rappelle certains exemplaires dorés de la Deuxième Période Intermédiaire. Celui-ci est lissé. La pâte est fine, orangée et couverte d'une engobe rougeâtre.
