Description
This ''tulip'' vase was part of a set of four identical vases filled and placed in front of the principal deceased, on the head of a sacrificed body. It has all the features of this type of Classic Kerma vessel: a fine black clay, Nile mud with a chaff temper, a shiny, brick-red body and a wide and irregular black rim. The white band has been reduced to a mere succession of dark grey patches. The shape is also typical: a flat base, S-profile and flared rim.
