Description
These two similar pieces of wood could have been the support of a now lost piece of furniture, possibly a chest. Their contours bare a resemblance to a stylised (lion's ?) leg placed on a small base, thus separating the object from the ground. At mid-height and in the upper section (thinned by half to allow the embedding of the part), two mortises indicate the presence of tenons (of which one of the parts preserved a fragment) which consolidated the unit.
