Description
The burial in which this hedgehog-scaraboid was found contained several other amulets, among which three other hedgehogs and two lions. The present one is very touching, with its two erect ears, triangular muzzle and the cross-cross pattern on its back. The flat side bears the so-called "Redi-Re" inscription, incomprehensible but well dated to the Second Intermediate Period.
