Description
This fragment of relief in limestone, which comes from the temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, depicts a divinity with the head of a bird. It is probably a white spoonbill (Platalea leucorodia), a bird with white or pink plumage and with a long beak widening at the end. The identity of the divinity, of which the representation is unique in egyptian iconography, is not known.

Dit kalkstenen reliëf-fragment, afkomstig uit de tempel van Hatsjepsoet in Deir el-Bahari, stelt een vogelkoppige godheid voor. Het gaat waarschijnlijk om de witte lepelaar (Platalea leucorodia), een vogel met witte of roze veren en een lange, uitlopende snavel. De identiteit van de godheid, waarvan de afbeelding uniek is in de Egyptische iconografie, is onbekend.
