General Comment
Material: The statue is finely made but the bronze was pitted in casting. Preservation: The crown is lost. Iconography: In this aspect Isis was regarded as a vital link between deities and the king, the king was regarded as the 'living Horus' on the throne of Egypt. The Pyramid Texts state that the ruler drinks divine milk from the breast of his mother Isis and this imagery is shown in the many statuettes of Isis seated on a throne and suckling the infant Horus.
