Description
This figurine in painted limestone (?) was acquired by an exchange with the Museum of Cairo in 1907. It depicts a monkey who seems to want to protect with both arms her young which clings to her body, between her folded legs. Neither the provenance nor the date of the piece are known with certainty.

Dit beeldje in beschilderde kalksteen (?) is verworven door een ruil met het Museum van Cairo in 1907. Het stelt een aap voor die met zijn twee armen zijn jong lijkt te willen beschermen dat zich tegen zijn lichaam bevindt tussen zijn opgetrokken benen. Noch de herkomst noch de datering van het stuk zijn met zekerheid bekend.
Cette figurine en calcaire peint (?) a été acquis par un échange avec le Musée du Caire en 1907. Elle représente un singe qui semble vouloir protéger avec ses deux bras son petit qui se trouve contre son corps, entre ses jambes repliées. Ni la provenance ni la date de la pièce sont connues avec certitude.
Diese Figur aus bemaltem Kalkstein (?) wurde 1907 im Austausch mit dem Museum in Kairo erworben. Sie zeigt einen Affen, der mit seinen Armen sein Junges beschützen zu wollen scheint, das sich zwischen seinen angewinkelten Beinen an seinen Körper schmiegt. Weder Herkunft noch Alter des Stückes sind mit Bestimmtheit bekannt.
Questa figurina di calcare dipinto (?) é stata acquistata tramite uno scambio con il Museo del Cairo nel 1907. Rappresenta una scimmia che sembra voler proteggere con le braccia il suo piccolo che si trova contro il suo corpo, fra le gambe piegate. Né la provenienza né la data del pezzo sono note con certezza.
Esta figurinha de calcário pintado (?) foi obtida por uma troca com o Museu Egípcio do Cairo em 1907. Representa um macaco que parece querer proteger com os seus dois braços um filhote que ele aperta contra o corpo entre as suas duas pernas dobradas. Nem a proveniência nem a data da peça se conhecem.
Esta figurita de caliza pintada (?) fue conseguida mediante intercambio con el Museo de El Cairo en 1907. Representa a un mono que parece querer proteger con ambos brazos a su cría, que se encuentra pegada a su cuerpo, entre sus piernas dobladas. Ni la procedencia ni la fecha de la pieza se conocen con certeza.
