Description
A wooden headrest, made from three pieces and painted yellow. It has a wide rectangular base and a square shaft that is placed at an angle rather than in square form so the fluting is off centre. The abacus is square and the curve is of equal width for the whole length, with rounded ends. The three pieces are attached by small circular tenons from the top and bottom of the shaft which extend right through the abacus/curve and base sections.

Provenance: See Comment above. Site: Tomb 1 - Antef. The headrest was inside the sarcophagus, before the face. Preservation: The paint has flaked off and the left side of the base is very worn, the three pieces are very loose.
