Description
An amulet of faience made in the shape of a frog, believed to have particular powers of regeneration. This amulet was damaged during the mummification process, from the heat of the resin used to cover the bandages, the faience is crackled and one side is misshapen.

Amulet van faience in de vorm van een kikker. Men geloofde dat de kikker speciale krachten bezat die in verband stonden met wedergeboorte. Dit exemplaar werd tijdens het mummificatieproces beschadigd. Door de hitte van de hars die werd gebruikt om de windsels te bedekken is het faience afgebrokkeld en is een kant vervormd.
Amulette en faïence en forme de grenouille à laquelle étaient attribués des pouvoirs de régénération. L'objet a été endommagé durant le processus de momification, à cause de la chaleur de la résine utilisée pour recouvrir les bandelettes; la faïence est craquelée et l'une des faces est déformée.
Ein Fayenceamulett in Froschgestalt, dem besondere Regenerationskräfte zugesprochen wurden. Dieses Amulett wurde im Verlauf der Mumifizierung durch das heiße Harz, mit dem die Bandagen getränkt wurden, beschädigt; daher ist die Fayence gesprungen und auf einer Seite verformt.

The amulets were removed from a mummy which was in such poor condition that it was considered unsuitable for exhibition. The amulets were revealed during radiographic examination and removed in 1967, other parts of the body were used for research purposes. Thirty of the amulets were found in the thoracic region and two in the abdominal area.
