Description
The canopic chest is in the shape of a shrine, with the gods Thoth and Re-Harakhty depicted drawing the door bolts just as the priests would do every morning in the temples. Two figures of the Anubis jackal protect the lid and symbols of Isis and Osiris on the four sides would also afford protection to the viscera. The four Sons of Horus are shown on their relevant sides of the chest.
