Description
Two circular pieces of matting, and a third from a join of woven fibres with long, looser fibres. All three were found in the temple to the cult of king Nebhepetra Mentuhotep, of the Middle Kingdom. The excavators dated them to the 21st Dynasty, about a thousand years later than the construction of the temple. At that date the temple was being quarried for stone, and a number of burials were being made in the debris of the ruined monument.
