Description
Siltstone palette roughly shaped into a rectangle, with a hole at one end for suspension. Palettes of different form but similar material were used for grinding green malachite as eyepaint throughout ancient Egyptian history, into the Roman Period.

Siltstenen palet ruwweg als een rechthoek gevormd, met aan een kant een gaatje om het op te hangen. Paletten van andere vorm maar van hetzelfde materiaal werden gebruikt om groen malachiet tot oogverf te vermalen tijdens de oude faraonische geschiedenis, tot in de Romeinse Periode.
Palette en limon dont la forme est à peu près rectangulaire. Un trou de suspension est visible à l'une des extrémités. Des palettes de formes différentes, mais fabriquées dans le même matériau, furent employées pour broyer de la malachite verte, maquillage pour les yeux, pendant toute l'histoire de l'Égypte ancienne, et ce, jusqu'à la Période Romaine.
Grob rechteckige Palette aus Siltstein mit einer Durchbohrung an einem Ende. Paletten verschiedener Form, aber aus demselben Material wurden zum Zerreiben grünen Malachits für Augenschminke während der gesamten ägyptischen Geschichte bis in die Römerzeit verwendet.
Tavolozza in scisto rozzamente modellata in forma rettangolare, con un foro ad una delle estremità per essere appesa. Tavolozze di materiali diversi ma simili erano usate per triturare la malachite verde utilizzata come belletto per gli occhi durante tutta la storia dell'antico Egitto, fino al Periodo Romano.
