Description
Bowl with broad shoulder and thick, convex stem, of semi-transparent glass, the colour partly decayed. The art of blowing, rather than core-moulding, glass vessels was developed and introduced into Egypt by the Romans. Despite high numbers in production, glass was a luxury product, and vessels were often kept as heirlooms across generations and even centuries.
