The Global Egyptian Museum

This fine marble statue represents the Nile as a male, called "Nilus", half nude and reclining on his left side. He rests on a small hippopotamus, holding a horn of plenty in his left hand and a bunch of flowers in the right hand. The left end is broken. 

The museum keeps a small figurine of the same type made of lead. The "Nilus" statue is displayed together with a female statue of the Nile called "Euthenia."

Cette magnifique statue de marbre représente le Nil sous les traits d'un homme appelé "Nilus". A moitié nu, il est étendu sur son côté gauche et repose sur un petit hippopotame. De plus, il tient une corne d'abondance dans la main gauche et un bouquet de fleurs dans la droite. L'extrémité gauche est brisée.

Le musée conserve une petite figurine du même type en plomb. Cette statue de Nilus est exposée avec une statue "féminine" du Nil du nom d'"Euthenia".

يمثل هذا التمثال الرخامي الأنيق النيل الذكر المسمى "نيلوس" نصف عار مستنداً على جنبه الأيسر، متكئاً على برنيق صغير (فرس نهر) ممسكاً قرن الوفرة بيسراه وباقة من الزهرة في يمناه، حيث كسر الطرف الأيسر. 

ويحتفظ المتحف بتمثال صغير من الطراز نفسه من الرصاص. ويعرض مع تمثال النيلوس هذا تمثال لأنثى النيل يسمى "يوثنيا".
