The Global Egyptian Museum

This limestone block, sculpted in sunken relief, was once part of a wall in a tomb chapel. It is carved in the curved-line, vital, sensuous, late Eighteenth Dynasty style. 

It depicts a woman's face and part of her chest. The lady on the block appears to be mature and forceful. She wears a long wig topped by lotus flowers and buds. It is bound at the top with a wide floral fillet, or ribbon. The neck is adorned with a large collar. The woman holds the Hathor-headed sistrum, or rattle, and the Menat necklace. 

The artist combined the low relief of the whole figure with the raised relief

Ce bloc en pierre à chaux, sculpté en relief rentrant, a fait partie d'un mur dans la chapelle d'une tombe. Il est sculpté selon le style aux lignes courbes, vital, qui affecte les sens de la fin de la dix-huitième dynastie. 

Il représente le visage d'une femme et une partie de sa poitrine. La femme sur le bloc semble mûre et énergique. Elle porte une longue perruque surmontée de fleurs et de bourgeons de lotus. Elle est délimitée en haut par un large filet ou ruban floral. Le cou est orné d'un large collier. La femme porte le sistre, ou crécelle, à tête de Hathor et le collier Menat.

Sur l'ensemble de la silhouette, l'artiste a combiné le bas-relief et le relief rentrant des traits du visage et des accessoires. Si l'on étudie les petits détails du portrait, on admire l'artiste talentueux qui a sculpté cette beauté.

هذا القالب من الحجر الجيرى المنقوش عليه بالنقش الغائر كان فى الأصل جزءاً من حائط مقصورة فى إحدى المقابر. وقد نقش وفقاً للأسلوب الحى والحسى ذى الخطوط المنحنية الذى تميز به فن نهاية الأسرة الثامنة عشرة. 

وفى هذا النقش نرى وجه سيدة وجزءاً من صدرها، وعلى ما يبدو أنها فى سن النضج والقوة، وتضع على رأسها شعراً مستعاراً طويلاً يعلوه زهور وبراعم اللوتس، كما يربطه من أعلى شريط عريض مزين بالورود. أما الرقبة فيزينها قلادة عريضة. وتمسك السيدة بالسيستروم أو الشخشيخة المشكلة على شكل رأس حتحور وكذلك القلادة المسماة منات. 

ونلاحظ فى هذا النقش أن الفنان مزج النقش الغائر الذى نفذ به المنظر بأكمله مع النقش البارز الذى نفذت به ملامح الوجه والإضافات. كما أنه بالنظر إلى التفاصيل الدقيقة للوجه نشعر بمهارة الفنان الذى نقش هذا الجمال.
