The Global Egyptian Museum

The small pot was used to store kohl, an eye paint used to enhance beauty and protect the eyes. The pot's body is decorated with incised geometric yellow lines, while its lid is ornamented with a big rose in the center and with four lotus flowers surrounding it. 

Using lotus flowers as decoration symbolized resurrection. It was believed that when people smelled lotus flowers, life was given back to the deceased.

Ce petit pot était utilisé pour stocker du khôl, un maquillage pour les yeux utilisé pour s'embellir et protéger les yeux. Des lignes géométriques jaunes incisées ornent le corps du pot, alors que son couvercle est orné d'une grosse rose au centre entouré de quatre fleurs de lotus. 

L'utilisation de fleurs de lotus comme décorations symbolise la résurrection. On pensait qu'en sentant des fleurs de lotus, le défunt revenait à la vie.

كان هذا الإناء الصغير يستغل فى حفظ الكحل، وهو مادة ملونة للعيون كان يستخدم لإبراز جمال العيون وحمايتها. ويزين جسم المكحلة خطوط صفراء محزوزة بأشكال هندسية. أما الغطاء فيزينه زهرة كبيرة فى الوسط يحيط بها أربع زهرات لوتس. 

وكان استخدام زهور اللوتس فى الزخرفة يرمز إلى البعث، حيث كان الإعتقاد أنه عندما يشم الناس زهور اللوتس فإن الحياة كانت تعود ثانية للمتوفى.
