Description
The hairpin is in the shape of an open papyrus with the teeth of the comb attached. Used as both a hairpin and comb, it is evidence of the creativity and practical thinking of craftsmen in ancient Egypt. Hairstyles were of great importance to the ancient Egyptians, not only for personal appearance but also as symbols of social status.

Cette pince à cheveux est en forme de papyrus ouvert sur lequel sont fixés les dents du peigne. Utilisé comme peigne et comme pince à cheveux, cet objet démontre la créativité et la pensée pratique des artisans de l'ancienne Egypte. Les styles de coiffure revêtaient une grande importance pour les anciens Egyptiens, non seulement pour leur apparence personnelle mais également en tant que symboles de leur position sociale.
صنع دبوس الشعر هذا على هيئة زهرة البردى المتفتحة وقد اتصل بها أسنان المشط. وكان من الممكن استعمال هذه القطعة كمشط ودبوس للشعر معا. وهذا خير دليل على إبداع الفنان المصرى القديم وتفكيره الخلاق. وكان طراز الشعر فى غاية الأهمية بالنسبة للمصرى القديم، ليس فقط من حيث المظهر الشخصى والتزين، بل كان أيضاً يرمز للوضع الإجتماعى للشخص.
