Description
Sarcophagi like this one were sometimes decorated with a palace or house facade on the exterior wall because the ancient Egyptians believed the sarcophagus was the eternal house of the deceased. This sarcophagus belongs to a man named Ka-em-Sekhem. It is made from one block of stone and is topped with a lid made from the same block.
