The Global Egyptian Museum

The lower part is all that remains of a statue depicting its owner kneeling on a base. A pleated short kilt reaches his knees. With his hands still visible on both sides, he supports a naos, or shrine, containing an image of the god Osiris in the front. Osiris wears the Atef crown and a beard and holds the crook, the flail, and a Djed pillar. 

The base has text on three sides, in which the owner of the statue prays that the god Ptah will grant him "life, health, and prosperity." 

Statues of a person holding a naos, or shrine, had been placed in temples from the New Kingdom to the Late Period. This allowed the donor to symbolically participate in the offerings brought for the god and receive the god's protection.

La partie inférieure est tout ce qui reste d'une statue représentant son propriétaire à genoux sur une base. Un court pagne plissé lui arrive aux genoux. Avec les mains encore visibles des deux côtés, il soutient un naos, ou chapelle, contenant une image du dieu Osiris sur le devant. Osiris porte la couronne Atef et une barbe et il tient la crosse, le fléau et un pilier Djed. 

La base comporte un texte sur les trois côtés dans lequel le propriétaire de la statue prie pour que le dieu Ptah lui accorde "vie, santé et prospérité." 

Des statues représentant une personne tenant un naos, ou chapelle, ont été placées dans les temples entre le Nouvel Empire et la Basse Epoque. Cela permet au donateur de participer symboliquement aux offrandes apportées pour le dieu et de recevoir la protection du dieu.

لم يتبق من هذا التمثال إلا جزءه الأسفل الذى يصور صاحبه راكعاً على قاعدة، وهو يرتدى نقبة قصيرة ذات ثنيات، ويقوم الرجل بسند ناووس، أومقصورة، بكلتا يديه. ويحوى الناووس تمثال صغير للمعبود أوزوريس بلحيته وهو يرتدي تاج الآتف ويمسك الصولجان والمذبة وعمود الچد. 

ولقد نقشت ثلاثة أوجه من القاعدة بنص يدعو فيه صاحب التمثال أن يضمن له المعبود بتاح الحياة المديدة والصحة والرخاء.

ولقد كان من المعتاد وضع تماثيل لأشخاص حاملين مقاصير أو نواويس فى المعابد منذ عصر الدولة الحديثة وحتى العصر المتأخر مما يتيح لواهبيها المشاركة الرمزية فى القرابين التى تقدم للأرباب ونيل حمايتها وبركتها.
