Description
This type of polychrome glass vase appeared for the first time in the Eighteenth Dynasty. The glass vases were not blown, but molded hollow around a clay mandrel, or rod, that was removed when the glass became cooler. The technique enabled artists to form vases with elongated necks or bases or even to add parts separately, such as the handles on some of these vases.

Ce type de vase en verre polychrome apparut pour la première fois au cours de la dix-huitième dynastie. Ces vases en verre n'étaient pas soufflés mais bien moulés autour d'un mandrin d'argile. Une fois le verre refroidi, ce mandrin était retiré. Cette technique permettait aux artistes de réaliser des vases avec des cols ou des bases allongés et même d'ajouter séparément certaines parties telles que les anses
