Cette sauterelle en bois figure parmi les jouets retrouvés dans les tombes du Nouvel Empire. Il s'agit d'un véritable chef-d'oeuvre basé sur l'observation minutieuse du mécanisme du mouvement des ailes de cet insecte. Il en résulte une imitation en bois intelligente qui aurait été utilisée comme jouet animé.
من بين ما عثر عليه من ألعاب الأطفال في مقابر الدولة الحديثة، كانت هذه الجرادة من الخشب. وهي قطعة فنية أصيلة، إعتمدت على الرقابة الدقيقة لحركة أجنحة تلك الحشرة، لصنع نموذج خشبي، يتخذ لعبة متحركة.
