Description
Made of gilded bronze, two of the four lamps that were found are in the form of an upright Ankh, or life, sign with arms that support a tubular torch holder. The lamp support shown here still contains a torch of twisted linen with one end resting in the torch holder, which contained the oil to keep the torch lit.

En bronze doré, deux de ces quatre lampes sont en forme d'ankh vertical, ou signe de vie, avec des bras qui soutiennent un support pour torche tubulaire. Le support de lampe montré ici contient encore une torche en lin torsadé dont une extrémité repose à l'intérieur du support pour torche qui, à une époque, contenait l'huile permettant de garder la torche allumée.
عثر في مقبرة توت عنخ آمون على أربعة حوامل لمصابيح صنعوا من البرونز، شكل اثنين منها على هيئة علامة الحياة عنخ بذراعين مرفوعين، وذلك بغرض حمل يد المصباح. واحتفظ الأثر المعروض هنا بفتيل ملفوف صنع من الكتان حيث كان يوضع في خزان المصباح، الذي كان يملأ بالزيت اللازم للإضاءة.
