Queen Hatshepsut is the most famous female ruler of ancient Egypt. 

This head, which is one of the masterpieces of Eighteenth Dynasty sculpture, is part of a statue that once represented the queen in the shape of the god Osiris. 

The head, made out of painted limestone, bears all her distinctive feminine features: the gently curved eyebrows, the wide eyes extended by cosmetic lines, the delicate aquiline nose, the full cheeks, and the gracious mouth.

La reine Hatchepsout est la plus célèbre souveraine de l'Egypte ancienne. 

Cette tête est l'un des chefs d'oeuvre de la sculpture de la dix-huitième dynastie. Par ailleurs, elle fait partie d'une statue qui, à une époque, représentait la reine sous l'apparence du dieu Osiris. 

Sculptée dans du calcaire peint, la tête porte tous les traits distinctifs de la reine : des sourcils légèrement arqués, de grands yeux allongés par des traits de crayon, un délicat nez aquilin, des joues rondes et une bouche gracieuse.

كانت الملكة حتشبسوت أشهر امرأة حكمت مصر القديمة. 

وهذه الرأس هى جزء من تمثال كان يصور الملكة في هيئة الرب أوزوريس، وهو يعد قطعة فريدة من نحت الأسرة الثامنة عشرة. 

أما الرأس المنحوتة من حجر جيري ملون، فيحمل ملامح الأنثى الواضحة، حواجب لينة الانحناء، وعينين كحيلتين، مع خط ممتد للكحل، وأنف معقوف، وخدين ممتلئين، وفم رشيق.
