This statue of the goddess Isis was found in the tomb of the chief scribe, Psammetik, at Saqqara. It depicts the wife of the great god Osiris and the mother of Horus, as a beautiful woman.

Isis holds the Ankh sign, symbol of life. Since Isis was often associated with the goddess Hathor, she wears a crown similar to hers consisting of a solar disk between two cow horns. 

The base of the statue contains an offering formula dedicated by Psammetik to Isis, goddess of charm, who succeeded in resurrecting her husband Osiris after he was killed by his brother Seth.

Cette statue de la déesse Isis fut retrouvée à Saqqarah dans la tombe du chef scribe Psammétik. Elle représente l'épouse du grand dieu Osiris et la mère d'Horus sous les traits d'une femme splendide. Isis tient le Ankh, symbole de la vie. 

Etant donné qu'Isis était souvent associée à la déesse Hathor, elle est coiffée d'une couronne semblable à celle de la dernière. La couronne de la déesse Hathor se compose d'un disque solaire compris entre deux cornes de vache. 

La base de la statue comporte une formule d'offrande dédiée par Psammétik à Isis, la déesse magicienne. Cette dernière parvint à ressusciter son époux Osiris après que son frère Seth l'eut assassiné.
