Description
The serpent Neterankh, or the Living God, was one of the deities in charge of protecting the regions of the underworld and defending the sun god as he passed through each night. This statue is made of gilded wood and stands on a wooden base darkened with varnish. The eyes are made of either quartz, rock crystal, or translucent glass and are set in metal sockets

Le serpent Neterankh, ou le dieu vivant, était l'une des divinités chargées de protéger les régions de l'au-delà et de défendre le dieu soleil au cours de chaque nuit qu'il traversait. Cette statue en bois doré repose sur une base en bois foncé au vernis. Ses yeux sont en quartz, en cristal de roche ou en verre translucide ; de plus, ils sont placés dans des orbites métalliques
