Description
A statue of the god Osiris represented as a mummy. He is wearing a long tight garment, and is crowned with the Atef crown, and has the royal cobra (uraeus) on his forehead. His features are clearly defined. The statue is supported on a square base. The worship of Osiris, Isis, and Horus was widespread in Egypt, and the Ptolemies were careful to continue observing it when they introduced the worship of Serapis as a new cult.
